ABOUT THE PROJECT

RES' proposal at Murley is for the development of up to 9 wind turbines.  Based on an indicative installed capacity of 20.7 MW, the wind farm would produce sufficient clean renewable electricity to satisfy the average requirements of approximately 14,500 homes, every year.*

Proposed Site Location

RES is proposing to develop the wind farm in the vicinity of Glengesh Lower Forest, Moysnaght, Killgordon, Tattanafinnell, Edergole and Cole Glen Forest, near Fivemiletown, Co. Tyrone.

*Final wind farm capacity will vary depending on the outcome of planning permission and turbine type selected. The 20.7 MW figure used here is based on nine turbines each rated at 2.3 MW. The 14,500 homes equivalent has been calculated by taking the predicted annual electricity generation of the site (based on RES studies at Murley Wind Farm has a predicted capacity factor of 34.7%) and dividing this by the annual average electricity consumption figures from the Department of Energy and Climate Change 2012 (4229kWh).
